Powered by a single 18V LXT battery (sold separately), the XCU06Z utilizes Makita's strongly-preferred 18V battery platform, ensuring maximum power, speed, and run-time. The efficient Makita outer rotor brushless motor with a direct drive system provides high power efficiency equivalent to a gas chain saw.

The XCU06Z features a variable speed trigger and a high chain speed (0-4,720 FPM) for increased cutting speed, as well as a torque boost mode for tackling dense material. With zero emissions and reduced maintenance, this cordless chain saw eliminates the need to change engine oil, replace spark plugs, or clean air filters and mufflers. There's also no need to drain the fuel for storage; users simply need to load the 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery (sold separately), and the saw is ready for use.

Convenience features of the XCU06Z include adjustable automatic chain lubrication, a built-in lock-off lever to help prevent the chain from accidentally engaging, and an electric brake for maximum productivity.
